Coach Trahan is in his 13th year with the Patriot Baseball Team. He received his B.A. in Health and Physical Education with an add-on certification of mild/moderate special education from Louisiana College. He currently teaches special education as well as assistant football and Head Baseball Coach. Coach Trahan is a former All-State, All-Parish, All-District, and All-Acadiana 2nd basemen at North Vermilion. After his playing career at NVHS, he went on to letter four years at Louisiana College as an outfielder. In his time at LC, he was awarded ASC hitter of the week, 2006 Team MVP, 2nd team all-conference, and a four time member of the all-academic team. In Coach Trahan’s 12 years with the Patriot baseball team, they have advanced to the Regionals three times, quarterfinals 3 times, and been named district champion 5 times. The team has also made the playoffs 11 years in a row. During that time, 14 players have moved on to continue their baseball careers at the college level. Coach Trahan’s record in twelve seasons at NV is 233-149-2 (.607). Coach Trahan was selected as the all-district coach of the year 5 times and all-parish coach of the year twice. Coach Trahan also is currently the President of the Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association and serves on the executive committee for the LHSCA to represent baseball.
